ABOUT ME
Welcome! My name is Linden and I am the founder behind Talking Tree Events. Talking Trees is a new venture, founded April 2026, but I've been planning, managing, and facilitating events and programs for public libraries, schools, universities, and in community since 2015.
My background is in Anthropology and Sociology (BA at University of Melbourne) and then as a Masters-qualified librarian (MIS at Charles Sturt University), specialising in community and youth programming and events. I have run and organised some really unique events and programs, primarily focused on reaching isolated groups and fostering community connection. A summary of some of my projects is available here. At a conservative estimate, my programs and events have reached well over 3,000 people so far in my career. For events and programs primarily targeting connection and deep engagement, this is pretty phenomenal.
I live in the Dandenong Ranges with my husband, young daughter, and miniature dachshund (Argos). I enjoy long ambles through the forest, the mushrooms and moss of late autumn in the Hills, blue skies, low mists, sunlight through leafy branches, poetry in all its forms, and sci-fi/speculative fiction.
Mission
My hope with Talking Tree Events is to engage with unique, community-building celebrations and programs to facilitate connection, reduce isolation, and to drive community-level resilience.
I am passionate about neurodiversity (and supporting experiences of neurodivergence), motherhood (as a critical, sociological role, and as a personal journey and experience), and youth engagement (and providing spaces for young people to be seen and valued).
